Verse 34 of the Old Testament says that “So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.” Now technically, this means that god had made the seventh day holy since he took rest from his ‘work’, which is basically refers to the creation of the universe. Living Church Youtube Channel Community Churches believes that this was true, and hence, the seventh day of the week is considered as a period of rest, so as to follow in the maker’s holy footsteps. However, there have been some arguments pertaining to the fact, how can God take rest, and whether he ever sleeps or not.

To this, the Christian Community Church holds an opinion that man was God’s greatest creation, and indeed, after the creation of the universe and man in particular, his work was finished. You can find many debates on forums regarding verse 34 of Genesis 2:3. The fact is, rest is an important part of our lives, and is defined as a means of relieving oneself from the exhaustion of work. Just think about it, if you had no break from work, and had to engage in physical or mental labor all seven days of the week, would you be able to live a fulfilling life?

There are also many other debatable mentions in the holy texts, like Psalm 78:65 – “Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, as a man wakes from the stupor of wine.” A person can easily derive a conclusion that God drank wine, but someone who understands the teachings of the Christian Community Church knows that it’s just a metaphor. Every person who has come in touch with these teachings has been witness to an awakening in their lives towards religion, which has paved way for success and fulfillment in their lives.
